The spotfin hogfish or Cuban hogfish is a species of wrasse native to the Atlantic Ocean, where it is mainly found from North Carolina to Brazil, through the Caribbean. It has also been recorded from São Tomé off the coast of West Africa. This species inhabits reefs, both rock and coral, where it occurs at depths of 15 to 120 m though rarely deeper than 24 m (79 ft). It is of minor importance to local commercial fisheries and can be found in the aquarium trade.
