The diamondback puffer is a species of marine ray-finned fish belonging to the family Tetraodontidae, the pufferfishes. This puffer is native to the western Indian Ocean, including the Red Sea, from where it has colonised the Eastern Mediterranean, likely via the Suez Canal.
