The blackspot seabream, also known as the red seabream or besugo, is a species of marine ray-finned fish belonging to the family Sparidae, the seabreams and porgies. It is widespread in the Eastern Atlantic from Norway to Mauritania, including Macaronesia and the western Mediterranean. It is an important species to fisheries, and overfishing has led to it being classified as Near Threatened.
